It was a call to my mobile starting with an automated voice telling me that there was an issue with my Amazon Prime account and that it would end. If I wished to talk to customer services then I had to press 1. I hung up and blocked since I dont have an Amazon Prime account and I dont think I ever have. So, it had to be a scam call.

This company calls me almost every day to play me a recorded message trying to sell me a boiler. I have received 16 phone calls from them since the end of January. Sometimes they use a similar number but ending in '169' instead of '172'. The best thing to do is to report nuisance callers online, using the following link: http://ico.org.uk/complaints/marketing/31 - it only takes a couple of minutes to fill in their questionaire, and it's worth having the patience to do this, as the more complaints they receive about nuisance callers the more likely they will take action and issue warnings - and, if necessary, heavy fines.

I just had a call (supposedly)from this crowd claiming to be a government backed agency who are able to stop unwanted calls
Very plausible approach offering advice / equipment and a phone number to
contact if calls persist - all sounds authentic till they start to talk about a small charge of £1.36 a month for 3 years which can be paid upfront as £49 at which point they want card details
I cut them off at that point but they had answered all my queries about the source of their information etc up till then
They quote a number of 08451297936 as their contact which when you google it throws up all the usual info - another con you need to be aware of especially if like us you suffer from these unwanted calls

02/02/2015 several calls from this number since 01/01/2015. the caller asks for me by name,says they are a local senior citizens organization, very plausible. Then begins asking questions about health and life style, which I find worrying and suspect.
